Psychatrists & Medical Management ServicesN. Joseph Gagliardi, MD Dr. Gagliardi, M.A., M.D., F.A.A.F.P., has worked in the field of addictions since 1972. Since then, he has worked in various capacities: as a consultant developing prevention programs, as an addictions counselor, as a Family Physician, as an Addiction Medicine Specialist and as adjunct assistant professor. He is currently a Diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Gagliardi received his A.B. in Sociology, 1971, from the University of Notre Dame; his Master of Arts degree in Counseling, 1975, from the University of Maryland, College Park; his M.D. degree in 1979 from the School of Medicine at the State University of New York at Buffalo. He completed his Family Medicine residency at the University of Maryland in 1982. In 1986, he was among the first 800 physicians nationally certified as Addiction Medicine Specialists by the American Society of Addiction Medicine. For the past 30 years, as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, he has taught medical students about addictions issues. Timothy Lacy, MD Dr. Lacy is a Board Certified Psychiatrist and Psychiatric Consultant for Integrative Counseling. He received his medical degree from Texas A&M University College of Medicine. He performed his Psychiatric training at the Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center (flagship hospital for the Air Force) in San Antonio, Texas and has lived in Silver Spring, MD, since 1994. From 1995-2005 he developed and directed the National Capital Consortium Military Combined Residency Program in Family Practice and Psychiatry (the largest of its kind in the nation). He has created novel neuroscience and neuropsychiatry educational programs used by several universities. Dr. Lacy has a wide-range of experience and directed mental health clinics, inpatient units, hospital consultation services, neuropsychiatric/brain injury programs, and substance use disorders clinics. As the father of an autistic adult, he has a deep understanding of the psychiatric impact that families face when caring for impaired family members. Whenever possible, Dr. Lacy attempts to integrate herbal, nutritional, and other alternative somatic treatments with traditional psychiatric care. He also emphasizes a holistic approach; coordinating care with primary care providers and psychotherapists. Dr Lacy has won numerous local and national awards for his teaching and writing. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed academic journals, over 90 national and international academic presentations, and developed international workshops on virtual reality and the integration of neuroscience, primary care, and psychotherapy. He is currently Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at George Washington University School of Medicine. Joshua Rosenthal, M.D. Dr. Rosenthal serves as the Medical Director for Congruent Counseling's Intensive Outpatient Program as well as the Psychiatric Consultant for Integrative Counseling for the past six years. He is fully trained in both adult and child psychiatry and has a board Dr. Rosenthal has experience treating a broad range of psychiatric and behavior disorders, including depression, seasonal affective disorder (SAD), anxiety, bipolar disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), substance abuse, autism, Asperger's disorder, and more. He also has extensive experience in clinical trials of new medications for the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders in adults and children. Dr. Rosenthal is also certified to prescribe Suboxone for He grew up in Rockville, Maryland and has lived in the state almost all of his life. He earned his undergraduate degree in English and American Literature at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA and then went on to receive his medical degree and adult and child psychiatry training at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. Dr. Rosenthal sees patients with Integrative Counseling. Dr. Rosenthal is not in network with any insurances or Medicare. Stas Spivak, MD Dr. Spivak serves as a Psychiatric Consultant for Integrative Counseling. He is Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry. Psychiatric Nurse PractitionerShannon Brill, PMHNP Shannon was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, then moved to Maryland where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Nursing at the University of Maryland. She went on to work as an ICU nurse until beginning her Masters a few years later. She graduated with a Master's of Science specializing in an Adult Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner/ Clinical Nurse Specialist. Since then she has worked in a variety of settings including in-patient psychiatry, psychiatric ER/crisis intervention, consultation services in the general hospital population, nursing homes, assisted living and out-patient psychiatry. Shannon's experience is broad treating a range of psychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and psychotic disorders. She sees patients aged 18 and older. When Shannon is not at work she enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children. She is also passionate about running and healthy eating.
